Of course, I can't take too much credit for it, cause it's the fabric that makes it. Don't you just love it??!?!
Well, I was reminded by Ms. Keena of Keena's Closet that they're called "kaftans". (The name just wouldn't come to me.) When I was in the process of making the garment, I was trying to come up with a name.
Recently I decided that it'd be called a "Saleta". "Why?" You may or may not ask. :-)
1. Telas=plural word for fabric/cloth in Spanish.
2. Saleta=telas spelled backwards with an 's' added on.
3. I adore the Spanish language.
So, I'm officially a word maker upper!
Nevermind the fact that I later learned "Saleta" is someone's last name!
I look forward to making more of these once I find appropriate fabric.

Looks easy and breezy =). Fabulous fabric. I feel you on the custom orders. I'm not suffering from a case of the too manies, more of a case of the "I've made it and now you have an excuse every time its time to pay for it"... sigh. Its great when we have the power to move on to the next project though... newness always has a way of making things better.
I actually love the shape of it... I don't think I could get away with the fabric but I think I would lie to make one for myself.
How are you by the way?
i LOVE it.
Love, love, love...
thanks ladies! :-D i adore it.
@ bar b.--tell me about it! sis, go 'head and implement that, "pay me at least half upfront" rule, ha!
@loverofwords--they are super simple to make! can't wait til i get my hands on the appropriate fabrics. i;m gonna be pumping these babies out like a mad woman.
and i am overwhelmed, exhausted, etc.etc. but still gratefull to be alive! :-) thanks for asking.
(gotta see if i have you on my blog roll...)
I adore kaftans. I own a couple that I discovered while thrifting. I use them for lounge wear. They were a favorite wardrobe piece while preggo. I'm looking forward to seeing you create more in different fabrics.
GIrl I love kaftans!!!! Is this one for sale in your etsy store? I just might have to treat myself.
aren't they great!?! and yes ma'am!
The tela is a winner and I like your idea of making a new word: saleta.
I love that name: saletas. It's close to 'saeta', a style of singing in Spain.
Nice to have you back.
Greetings from London.
Super! beautiful dress :)
