Looking Back

Re-do.

Well, this (^) was once this, but I felt it needed some freshening up and expanding, as it was probably an x-small. There was only so much enlarging that could be done give the amount of fabric, but it'd work as a medium now.

(This revamping is an attempt to get back in the groove where clothing design is concerned.)

**********

It really made me sad to hear the news in December that actress Brittany Murphy had passed away, and I had one of those "shaking my head"/"um-um-um" moments when I read yesterday the actual cause. Senseless dying.

I'll just go ahead and unashamedly admit that Clueless was and still is one of my favorite films. While I can't recall what capacity I saw the film in when I was barely a teen, I do know that it was an instant favorite. (I'm goofy and it appeals to that side of me.) Everytime I'd see Brittany Murphy on the screen after that, my mind would instantly go back to her "Tai" character (my favorite in the movie). I've always been into music and singing, so I was also struck by her singing voice which is portrayed at various points in Clueless. *Cues: "Rollin' with the homies!" while doing hand wave*

I always feel weird writing or thinking about celebrities who've passed on in the context of why I liked them since they have family and friends to whom they meant so much more to than just their status as an actor/actress, singer, or what have you. This was just on my mind, though.

(Ironically relevant reference made there.)

(Strange editing.)

peace!

I completely agree with you here, and to take it a step further-I catch myself often thinking the same things when they're still with us. Celebrity is an affliction of sorts. Even with all of the info that I divulge on my blog and in conversation, I still feel shielded from public viewing, protected if you will. Celebrity strips that shield and with that openness your (the celebrity's)space becomes very small and quite inhabited.

I like what you've done with the dress, funny money has me getting creative with past designs recently. I'm enjoyong it!

Ditto what T said. Fabulous revamp! I too, love the movie clueless. Hopefully there will be a new period of longevity instead of all this gone-too-soon-ness.

Hi Fly Tie :),
I can see you're being creative! You did a nice job reshaping that dress.Though I liked it with long sleeves, too.
You know,I was also very sad when I discovered that Brittany Murphy died. And since it happened at the end of 09 I just was even more sad, because last year many famous people died.I liked her...also in that movie where sha plays a spoiled nanny who takes care of a girl. And,I like the movie Clueless, too.I think it's a very good parody of the super rich teenagers :)!
Ah...such nostalgia...
Love my dear!
