Been Up To...

I mentioned previously that I've been doing a good bit of custom work lately.

Develped this ensemble from pattern to construction.

(This is the lady to whom the red wedding dress belongs--the one I forgot to get pics of after I altered it. :-/)

Made it all 'cept the headdress and accessories.

She needed it by today (Saturday, 28th), and naturally, I waited until the last minute to start (Thursday night..even though I'd had the fabric for 3 weeks). As a result I'm currently functioning off of 1.25 hrs. of sleep. **yawn**

Oh, My Back! My Aching Back!

Seems like just yesterday I was on here yapping about my approaching birthday

then yapping even more when it arrived.

And here we are again with me one year older. I swear I've been in pain this whole week! Sore legs, abdomen pain, throbbing headache. It's gotta be "old" age!!

(Nevermind the fact that there was a definite reason for the pain. I just wanna blame it on my getting older.)

So here I am at 27. Who woulda thought?

It was just two years ago that I was on here being grateful for having made it to 25.

I give thanks for continuation.

Woman vs. Dress

At the present moment, I'm swamped in custom work. Not so great for my creativity, but wonderful where finances are concerned. For that reason I'm grateful for the ability to measure, cut, and sew. :-)

One project that's in the works is the conversion of the train of a bulky and cumbersome yet beautiful wedding dress into a bolero jacket.

It's so massive and overwhelming for lil ol' me.

So far I've lost my seam ripper.
Somewhere inside the dress, I believe.

It must've just swallowed it up, and I want it back dangit!!!
Need it actually.

I know it's somewhere in those folds and crevasses.

We'll see how this goes...
