Force

The wanna be dancer in me loves this style of dress.

I'll have to go back add another layer underneath, cause it came out a bit--ok a lot--short on the left/back side. Good thing y'all can't see over there. :-/

April. April. April
Living in Lafayette, LA that means one thing for me:
FESTIVAL!

This year April also means that I need to really get on the grind, cause I've gotta make some things happen within the next 2 months...

***************

A tribute to past festival headliners who I had the honor of witnessing live:

(click photos to play music)

Angelique Kidjo
What a voice!
(Interview)

Lucky Dube
May his spirit live on.

Zap Mama!!!
One of the best performers I've seen
(group leader Marie Daulne)

Burning Spear!
!!
This man's music is a spiritual experience for me. Just gets me in the zone.

Have a wonderful day.
peace!!

That seems like a cool show. Maybe next year I'll get my money in and come down to work it. Too late this year.

Don't say 'wannabe dancer'. Dear, you're a dancer, you already have the spirit. Anyone who likes Angelique Kidjo is a soulmate of mine. Catch her version of 'Gimme Shelter' with Joss Stone on youtube. Move over, Mick!

Lovely dress, by the way.

Greetings from London.

Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Get your barefoot (or close to it) boogie on!

Loose, fluid, drapey, comfortable-all perfect for dancing.

And you know what? The other day when I popped down I forgot to comment on Mr Burning Spear. Because the truth of the matter is that Angelique blows everyone off stage, c'mon, let's be honest, that lady is a force of nature. But Mr Spears has always kept a locker in my soul. Though not the proud proprietor of any of his albums yet (and the situation is bound to change very soon) I have many tracks on my last.fm scrobbler along the likes of The Congos (if they don't take the clip off youtube as they did recently) and Lee Scratch Perry. For an example of good ol' British soul, pop down to my blog at some point. Many thanks, DANCER! :-D

Greetings from London.

Ever notice Zap Mama has an uncanny resemblance to Jada Pinkett Smith?

Love your blog, you have an awesome sense of fashion.

One day I'll check this music :),but today I have to say that this dress is really very nice and with the big red ring the whole look is very let's-go-to-party :))!I wish you a lot,a lot,a lot of fun at the festival.

Hug!
