(Still gotta hem it and finish the lining.)
While I love the dress, love the color, love the texture, love the length and just love the overall outcome, I'm now thinking I want something different....something more form fitting and stretchy. Basically something that I can move more comfortably in and dance in if the mood strikes me. (And the mood will strike me.)
So, now I'm considering creating a dress that's a hybrid of this style of skirt
and this style of dress
minus the stenciling and sleeves.
Aside from the functionality of a stretchy dress, it'd be great to add one to my wardrobe. I make a lot of garments out of stretch fabrics for others, but I don't think I've ever made anything stretchy myself. Now, the challenge will be finding that yellow color in an interlock material, since I don't think I've seen any around. If it's unavailable, I'll probably go with some shade of green....or maybe brown. However, I'd love the wear the yellow, since it's one of the colors of the wedding (brown is another).
Who knows, though. I might just end up wearing the dress. We shall see.
For now I'm off to cut and devour my watermelon. :-D
later.

I like the idea of yellow and fitted; with the fro and some wood/copper accessories...now, that'll work!

with my ideas for dresses. i'm thinking it may be better to find the accessories then match the dress, since i know the dress is gonna be a solid color of brown, green, or yellow.
