A simple (corduroy) jumper made the other day:
Reminds me of Icee cups. There's a red zipper down the back.

See, the thing that she and I had in common is that we were very lazy bead catchers, yet we ended up with the most of anyone in our group. I stood around dancing and snapping photos. She was either throwing fits or cuddled up on her daddy trying to fight sleep. Considering that, I'd say we did pretty good. Thanks to all the people...including the cute little 2-3 yr old boy (I didn't solicit I swear!)...who randomly walked up and handed me beads on numerous occasions as well as the bead throwers in the parade whose aim helped land them right at my feet, and all I had to do was bend down and pick them up. :-D

Test from my linguistics class.
The highest grade in the class. 95-A. Beautiful, right? Wrong!
Two of the questions that I missed were versions of the same two that I asked the professor about prior to the test just to make sure I fully understood. And after we'd emailed back and forth a few times and discussed it in class (right before the test), I did. I got it. Everything was clear to me. Really, it was. So why in the world did I still get 'em wrong??? I'd have preferred to get a 'B' rather than miss those two. O.k., maybe a 90..the lowest 'A'. When trying to explain this to a friend, I was told, "Girl, you got an 'A'!!! Why does it matter!?!?" Oh, but it does. It's the principle, dangit!! I don't like the quality of the 'A'. Does anybody feel me on this?? Or no??
Alright, moving on...

Images taken while out enjoying the weather yesterday.
Pretty flowers.
A house and landscape situation that I've been in love with since moving to this city nearly 8 yrs. ago. I just happen to live within walking distance of it now.

One of my favorite musical compositions. Meshell Ndegeocello, Akel Dama (Field of Blood) with a poem by Etheridge Knight entitled "The Idea of Ancestry." (I found a pretty interesting interpretation of it all.)
peace!

yeah, the two questions that you missed would annoy me as well. it's mostly because you felt that you understood it but your test tells another story. lol
and those flowers are pretty.
one!
I totally get the A thing. that would have gotten me upset too. Good job on the A otherwise, tho.
Love the red zipper!
I hear ya on the two missed questions. I'd be slappin' myself, too. On the other hand, you're one of two people in America who know the difference between phoneme, lexeme and morphmemes. (Actually, I can't even be sure I'm remembering those words correctly after just reading them 60 seconds ago...)
Congrats on the A!
I can understand how you feel about the missed questions. Good job on the excellent grade. Nothing can take that accomplishement away.
Also, very cool video. I am going to look into that series.

Simple is too meek a word to use. It's a gorgeous corduroy! Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
I think you are a true overachiever. Pat yourself on the back for the ones you got right 95%, WOW!. I remember the days in school when I would get great grades and focus on the ones I got wrong, hehehe. Once you start working in this field, if you do (did you decide on Grad school yet) You'll see a bunch of slackers working all around you and you may get frustrated over it.
